Quote of the month (From Paul Andreassen):

"Paying close attention to financial news can lead investors to trade too much and to earn lower returns than those who tune out the news."

Andreassen was a psychiatrist whose innovative experiments in the late 1980's demonstrated that investors who pay too much attention to the news tend to trade too often and get a lower return.   Action bias is one of the most important reason why individual investors have historically underperformed the market.  I feel it is particularly timely to reflect on in the light of the many uncertainties we are facing today.  For a more detailed perspective on today's markets, see my monthly market commentaries.
